Jeffrey Napoleon

Jeff Napoleon

Our dear friend and first class president died Thursday, February 8th, in Trenton, NJ a few days after his 40th birthday.  Prior to Princeton, Jeff attended St. George's Preparatory School in Newport, RI where he participated in cross-country running.  During his years at Old Nassau he was known for his infectious smile, sense of humor and outgoing nature.

Jeff lived in Butler College and while serving as Freshman Class President organized our first ever class event: a Black Tie Optional.  Jeff earned an A.B. architecture, was a member of Ivy Club and may have been best known around campus for feeding hungry students through his successful Care Package business.

After graduation, Jeff lived in New York City, frequently spending time with many Princetonians.  He went to Law School at Rutgers, and was doing well until they diagnosed Hodgkin's disease. He was treated, returned to Law School but the Hodgkin's returned. Beating the disease once again, he finished Law School and worked for the state of New Jersey dealing with real estate law and housing issues.  Jeff continued to be a supporter of Princeton, holding season tickets for Men’s Basketball for many post graduation seasons.

Jeff’s real love was not law but using his creative knowledge cultivated while studying architecture at Princeton.  After completing computer aided design classes in Pennsylvania, he returned to Trenton and started Jeffrey Alan Napoleon LLC, an interior design company. His last project was assisting his parents in designing and building their new home.

Jeff will be missed by all of us.  Son of the late Daniel Napoleon, he is survived by his mother and stepfather, Dr. Thelma Napoleon Smith and Deacon Marcellus D. Smith Jr.; a brother, Daniel G. Napoleon and his wife, Sharon L.; and a sister, Lisa A. Napoleon.
